The MMedSc programme was transformative for my career. Its clinically relevant subjects and specialised fields of study provided the essential skills and allowed me to register as a Medical Laboratory Technologist. This foundation enabled my progression to Laboratory Manager and subsequently to Laboratory Director, empowered me to contribute to the society through services on professional boards and councils—solidifying a fulfilling career in medical sciences.

Ms Denise Hou

Unexpectedly, MMedSc led me to a field that was completely new to me: genetic counselling. During the study, I was equipped with both hard knowledge of genetics and soft skills of counselling. Realizing the desire to continuously learn and utilize biomedical knowledge, as well as to work in a more people-engaging way, here I am now serving as a Genetic Counsellor!

Ms Mandy Kwok

Resident Genetic Counsellor,

Clinical Research Centre, Kowloon West Cluster, Hospital Authority

The MMedSc programme helped me connect my clinical background with academic research. The programme offered a well-structured curriculum and excellent learning resources. The professional, inspiring, and supportive guidance I received from my supervisor encouraged me to further explore musculoskeletal research. My experience in the MMedSc programme helped me discover my interest in research and inspired me to continue my academic journey through further studies in Orthopaedics and Traumatology at HKUMed.

Ms Xinyue Chang

MPhil Student,

Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology,

School of Clinical Medicine, HKUMed
