Application
Eligibility
To be eligible for admission to the curriculum leading to the degree of Master of Medical Sciences, a candidate shall:
- comply with the General Regulations;
- comply with the Regulations for Taught Postgraduate Curricula;
- hold a Bachelor's degree with honours of this University or a qualification of equivalent standard from this University or from another comparable institution accepted for this purpose;
- satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination if required; and
- for a candidate who is seeking admission on the basis of qualification from a university or comparable institution outside of Hong Kong of which the language of teaching and/or examination is not English, shall satisfy the University English language requirement applicable to higher degrees as prescribed under General Regulation G2(b).
Application Procedures
Applications for taught postgraduate admissions and payment of the application fee of HK$600 per application should be made online at https://portal.hku.hk/tpg-admissions. Your application cannot be processed until you have paid your application fee online by Visa or MasterCard credit card.
Please note application fee once submitted is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Applicable to the 2026-27 intake cohort:
1-year full-time
HKD$ 198,000 p.a.
2-year part-time
HKD$ 99,000 p.a.
Scholarships
The programme is supported by the UGC’s Hong Kong Future Talents Scholarship Scheme for Advanced Studies for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 intakes for selected local students. Please click here for more details.
